National
law firm Bevan Brittan LLP is hosting a free seminar for
companies considering an IPO and for those who may want
to learn a bit more about the process. The event is
designed to highlight the opportunities of, in
particular, the AIM market and for businesses to learn
more about the IPO process and how they can best prepare
for it.
The seminar is being run in conjunction with the London
Stock Exchange, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Brewin
Dolphin Securities. Speakers at the seminar will look
at the legal issues relating to an IPO, assessing
whether the AIM market is right for any particular
business, the role of a reporting accountant on an IPO
and the regulatory environment governing IPO’s and post
–IPO for companies trading on the AIM market.
Corporate Partner Sarah Cartwright said: “AIM has
traditionally been and remains the fastest growing
market in the world. In recent years AIM has seen an
increasing number of entrants choosing IPO to grow.
Despite the recent credit crunch and reported downturns
in the UK’s equity capital markets AIM is still seeing a
real degree of activity and remains a valid option for
smaller companies wishing to raise capital to grow or
make acquisitions.
Companies typically considering an IPO tend to be fast
growing and acquisitive, have a robust strategy for
growth, a good quality management team and a sound
trading and profitability record.”
This seminar is likely to appeal to executive and non
executive directors alike, private equity houses which
may be considering an IPO as an exit in respect of their
investment portfolios and for anyone else who wants to
learn a bit more about the process from experienced
professionals. Businesses in the waste, support services
and TMT sectors have increasingly been examples of new
entrants to the market of late but the seminar will
appeal to businesses in any sector and could assist
potential university or health spin out companies.
The event is being held on Tuesday 4th
December at Bevan Brittan’s offices and anyone wishing
