After
one of the most competitive and
sought after public sector tenders
in recent years, Bevan Brittan LLP
has been reappointed to
the Government’s Catalist Panel, the
panel of approved legal providers
administered by The Office of
Government Commerce (OGC).
The firm is one of 18 other
legal firms nationwide to be
appointed to the full commercial
sub-panel, out of 31 firms who had
been shortlisted to tender for
inclusion.
Firms appointed to the full
commercial panel are automatically
included on all seven of the
individual commercial legal panels
which also include
IT and telecoms, property and
estates, construction, employment
and pensions, corporate and finance
and IP.
The Catalist panel, formerly known
as L-Cat, was established as part of
OGC’s drive to improve procurement
efficiency in public sector bodies.
All firms appointed to the panel
have been appointed after a full,
competitive and legally compliant
tendering process. This enables
public sector bodies to appoint
approved legal firms without the
need to duplicate lengthy and high
cost procurement processes. Although
originally targeted at Central
Government bodies, the panel is now
being extended throughout the public
sector including Local Authority,
health and educational
organisations.
Bethan Evans, Government Division
Head and Partner at Bevan Brittan
said: “We are delighted to have been
re-appointed to Catalist and
increasing the scope of our
appointment to the Full Commercial
panel. We see this as confirmation
of our strength throughout the
public sector and an opportunity to
further develop partnerships with a
range of organisations in these
areas.”
