National law
firm Bevan Brittan LLP handed over £40,000 to
‘Casualty’ actor
Ian Bleasdale, on behalf of
NCH, as it
officially opened its new flagship building in
Bristol on Thursday 8 March.
The majority of the money was raised through the
firm hosting a Charity Ball at the Royal Courts
of Justice, London which was attended by over
400 guests in November last year. ITN newsreader
Nicholas Owen compered the evening on behalf of
NCH, whilst Sotheby’s looked after the auction.
The rest was raised by the firm through ‘dress
down’ days and other sponsored events.
Bevan
Brittan’s pro bono and charitable support
programmes
are focused on children and young people. The
firm’s current supported charity is one of the
UK’s leading children’s charities, NCH.
Stuart Whitfield, Bevan
Brittan’s Chief Executive, commented:
“NCH is an extremely worthy cause and we’re
delighted that we’ve raised so much money over
the past year to support it.
“As a firm we are passionate about the areas we
practice in and take corporate social
responsibility extremely seriously. Our
expertise in areas such as health, education and
regeneration means that NCH is right charity for
us to support.”
Ian Bleasdale, who plays paramedic Josh Griffiths in Casualty, is a long-term supporter of NCH and lives in Bristol.
