My Background
Trained and qualified Allen and Overy, Veale Wasborough 1997-99, Senior Staff Solicitor, Bevan Ashford, Associate, 2000-2004, Bevan Brittan LLP 2004-7, Associate. Partner Bevan Brittan LLP 2007-.

What I do
I advise employers on all aspects of the employee relationship. The clients I work for are from a wide spectrum including multinational telecoms providers, multinational insurers as well as local authorities, housing associations, RSLs and regulatory bodies.

I am a member of the Employment Lawyers Association and Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and am also the editor of the employment chapter in Jordan’s ‘Secretarial Administration’ loose leaf textbook. I have considerable experience of lecturing in employment issues as well as designing and delivering training.

My experience includes working for a year and a half in the City dealing with pensions matters (transactional and advisory), share schemes and employee tax. This gave me a well-rounded knowledge in these areas which is extremely useful in my practice.

Some examples

Commercial & Advisory
·         Advised on strategic aspects of key restructuring programme for various large multinational employers; some involving over 10,000 employees;
·         advised on the development and implementation of HR support helpline and e-query system for national HR teams in the insurance and telecoms sectors;
·         advised on both start-up businesses and also closing business in the UK; including working for US parent companies.

Outsourcing & Transactional Work
·         Advised on numerous significant outsourcing matters, including outsourcing of IT, training and admin functions (including overseas);
·         advising and negotiating employment issues associated with mergers and acquisitions including TUPE issues;
·         advised on various PFI/PPP transactions for the public and private sectors.

Business Protection
·         Advised employers on drafting business protection provisions/covenants;
·         advised employers on injunction procedures to enforce restrictive covenants and seek the return or destruction of confidential material.
