My background
Qualified in 1985. Partner and head of Shoosmiths’
Nottingham employment team. Previously at Wragges and
Pinsent Curtis both in Birmingham. Joined Bevan Ashford as a
partner in the Birmingham employment team, 2002. Partner,
Bevan Brittan LLP 2004-.
What I do
I provide a full range of employment advice to clients in
various sectors including food, retail, manufacturing and
distribution/logistics. I specialise in TUPE, discrimination
(particularly disability discrimination), family friendly
policies, trade union recognition, and corporate support.
Since 1998, I have been a part time chairman of the
Employment Tribunal (East Midlands).
Some examples
I successfully defended an application to the Central
Arbitration Committee for compulsory trade union recognition
on behalf of an major aviation transport company.
I have been involved in a variety of disability
discrimination claims for a major manufacturer.
