Melanie Print

Commercial
Partner

My Background
I worked in-house with a number of local authorities and their associated agencies including the West Midlands PTA before moving into the private sector in 1996 with Beachcroft Wansbroughs where I was a Partner from 1998 to 2005. I joined Bevan Brittan as a partner in 2005.

What I do
I advise on governance and commercial issues for NHS bodies and their interface with other sectors both public – local authorities and voluntary organisations including RSLs – on a range of matters from Integrated Working to Supporting People; and private - principally the development of public/private partnerships under integrated working and the development of Joint Ventures for FTs and provider arms for PCTs.

Some examples
I was engaged by the Department of Health to remodel the Acute Services Contract for Foundation Trusts and NHS Trusts and the Consortium Framework underpinning the co-ordination of commissioned activity.

I continue to work with a number of Foundation Trusts with advice ranging from mediations relating to PBR to restructuring of their Boards to meet the new challenges of integrated governance and advised the West Midlands Strategic Health Authority on the first M & A for a Foundation Trust. I am now developing Joint Ventures with Foundation Trusts.

Having completed a number of Sections 31 schemes ranging from full integrations for mental health services to ICES, including the first scheme to use Coalfield Regeneration monies to which the Coalfield Regeneration Trust was a partner, I have been instructed to advise the Northeast Lincolnshire Council and PCT in relation to the first Care Trust plus model.
