What I do
I divide my time by acting for banks and borrowers in the area of property finance and working the other time in the Health Division acting for Acute Trusts, Primary Care Trusts and other health clients. There are areas of natural crossover between the two disciplines.
I work with banks and their in house specialist health teams on all aspects of lending to the providers of health care, GP surgery developers, care home providers and more complex transactions involving the changing health landscape and how funders can be involved in the longer term funding of Health care such as LIFT.
I work with health clients on all aspects of their day to day real estate portfolio
Some examples
- Advising public sector bodies on an ongoing basis on portfolio landlord and tenant transaction
- Leading the negotiations for and on behalf of the Primary Care Trusts on the grant of subleases to GPs on Sandwell Lift schemes
- Leading recent second wave on Nottingham LIFT projects, and advising the public sector on complex phased development schemes on all real estate and site and title issues.
- Instructions to act for Bank of Ireland on a £22 million pound refinancing of a Midlands based residential nursing care home provider The Mount House Limited involving 9 properties across Shropshire and Staffordshire.
- Acted for Fitspace Limited on the asset acquisition of 7 properties from Fitness First throughout the country. This was a significant instruction adding to our portfolio of expertise in the leisure sector nationally and locally.
