My Background

What I Do

I deal with a range of commercial litigation and related commercial matters. In particular, I have extensive experience in complex technology disputes, including systems development, licensing and intellectual property and in shareholder and warranty disputes, partnership disputes, offshore and  finance issues. I have conducted numerous international arbitrations and mediations and am an accredited mediator. I frequently advise on risk management and legal project management. I have a long history of advising in the leisure, transport and offshore sectors.

Some Examples

Advising a FTSE100 company on a £35m software development dispute, eventually settled by mediation and negotiations;

Successfully conducting proceedings against a FTSE 100 company for warranty claims on behalf of a liquidator;

Advising a lead partner and offshore trustees on a dispute concerning the establishment and exploitation of a UK power plant; and

·Advising a UK trade association on its negotiations with the Inland Revenue resulting in £3billion in tax savings for its members.

Acting for a major UK plc in a call centre contractual dispute concerning technical issues, service levels and contract construction issues, culminating in negotiation of a Compromise Agreement and related business transfer to a third party.
