What I do
I specialise in a wide range of regeneration work. I have been involved in a number of large scale mixed use developments on previously developed land including redundant RAF sites as well as major urban city locations.
I have advised on all the issues involved in bringing such sites forward for regeneration and sustainable development including land assembly CPO issues and the interrelation with the planning process and environmental regulation.
I act for a number of major developers as well as a number of PCTs. I have advised Local Authorities and other public bodies such as Commission for New Towns in relation to compulsory purchase.
Some examples
- I advised Berkeley Homes (West London) Ltd in
relation to its objection to the proposed Docklands
Light Railway (Woolwich Arsenal Extension) Order under
the Transport and Works Act 1992 and the Town and
Country Planning Act 1990. I was responsible for
preparing the objection for attendance at the public
inquiry, but negotiated withdrawal of the objection and
an agreement between the parties in relation to the
effect that the proposed CPO would have on the Berkeley
development.
- I advised a funder on a PFI schools project in Wales
in relation to CPO procedure, processes, compensation
issues and possible judicial review.
- I am advising clients on the Local Development
Framework (LDF) process in relation to land allocated
for development. This has involved advising and
preparing representations and attendance at the
Examination in Public.
- I acted on behalf of North Oxfordshire Consortium
Ltd in relation to the preparation and attendance at a
major public enquiry for a mixed use scheme (including
residential) for the RAF Upper Heyford site,
Oxfordshire.
- I acted on behalf of developers in relation to a
number of Central London sites including appeal
inquiries in relation to Imperial Wharf, Fulham and St
George's Wharf, Vauxhall.
- I advised as part of the team in relation to the development of RAF Hendon in North London and RAF West Drayton in West London.
