What I Do

I have experience of working for public and private sectors in a variety of areas. I currently work within our Government and Education Division, advising Local Authorities on Building Schools for the Future (BSF) schemes and other complex major procurements.

I advise on all aspects of BSF transactions, including Partnering aspects, such as how Authorities should structure their deals to ensure that their BSF delivers fully on their objectives.  Every BSF is different, and it is so important for an Authority to ensure that their own objectives are prioritised. I also advise on the delivery contracts, including site delivery issues, and how to ensure that an optimum allocation of risk is achieved.

Some Examples
  • I am advising Birmingham City Council, Rochdale Metropolitan Borough Council and Coventry City Council on their Building Schools for the Future schemes.
  • I advised Amber Valley Borough Council and Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council on the successful financial close of their Leisure PFI schemes.  Rotherham was the largest Leisure PFI scheme to date.
  • I advised Parkwood Leisure as the Preferred Bidder on a Leisure scheme for Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council.
  • I advised a number of Local Authorities and a leading contractor on numerous schools PFI schemes prior to the inception of Building Schools for the Future.
  • I have also advised a number of NHS Trusts, contractors, sub-contractors and funders on NHS PFI schemes, including NHS LIFTS
