What I do
I advise both the public sector and private sector consortia
and funders on PFI and projects. I have considerable
experience in defence, health, waste and accommodation
projects.
Some examples
I advised the Bro Morgannwg NHS Trust on an acute and mental
health re-provision, with a value of more than £300m. This
was one of the first schemes to use treasury guidance and is
the largest health scheme to close in Wales.
I advised the Essex and Herts Community Trust and then the
Royston, Bungtingford and Bishop’s Stortford PCT on the
re-provision of community and primary care facilities in
Bishop’s Stortford. This was one of the first schemes to
close using the new NHS standard form contract and had
various complications including the simultaneous
re-provision of nursing home accommodation.
I advised The Royal Bank of Scotland on the re-provision of
community facilities for the South Tees NHS Trust. Again,
this was one of the first deals to close using the NHS
standard form and one of the first not to include soft
services.
I am advising both Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust
and Invicta Trust on Pembury and Maidstone Hospitals, a
complicated scheme worth over £200m. The scheme includes two
sites and two trusts and the need for both mental health and
acute provision.
I am advising the 4ps on the standardisation of project
documents for leisure schemes and how to unlock the market
to become more attractive to private consortia and funders.
I advised Westminster City Council on a complex waste
collection and street cleansing scheme. One of the most
complicated specifications for collection and street
cleansing, worth at least £250 million.
I am advising Bank of Ireland on a large community hospital
scheme.
I am advising six local authorities in relation to their
accommodation schemes.
I am also advising T.U.V. on a large defence training and
accommodation project.
