My Background
2002-2002: Training Slaughter and May, London, 2002 - 2004 Associate solicitor, Slaughter and May, London (commercial litigation)
What I do
My approach to dispute resolution is simple: to understanding my client's practical and commercial objectives, to formulate a clear and effective strategy and to work with my client to achieve them.
Some examples
- I recently acted for a 'big three' accountancy firm in its defence of a claim for valuer's negligence. My advice led to a settlement well below the client's projected exposure.
- I am advising in connection with a £20 million claim brought by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme asserting the mis-selling of financial products.
- I have represented a leading European telecommunications company in a variety of commercial disputes, each of which have been settled well before trial and at levels which exceeded expectations.
- I was part of a team advising a global media company in connection with the breach of post-production contracts worth well in excess of £200m. Our advice led to a negotiated settlement on commercially beneficial terms, while also minimising the cost of the dispute to the client.
- I acted for the successful respondent in the Court of Appeal case of Homepace Limited v SITA South East Limited (2008), which upheld a decision to set aside an expert determination.
