Bethan has over 18 years experience in the public sector. As a lawyer in local government
she worked for four councils in different roles including as a Deputy County Solicitor through
reorganisation in 1996, and as Director of Corporate Services for a large unitary authority.
Bethan worked for three years as Director of a local government agency supporting councils
with the introduction of Best Value and new political structures. Bethan specialises in
corporate governance, democratic decision making, judicial review and probity.
Bethan is a former Chair of the Law Society LocalGovernment Group for England and Wales and is
a member of SOLACE.
