Property and Estates

We offer an integrated and seamless service, working with the other members of our Built Environment Group, to provide specialist legal advice to all those concerned with the acquisition, development, funding, management and disposal of property.

Our public sector clients include central government departments, regional development agencies, NHS bodies, educational establishments, housing associations and social landlords. We provide an effective timely and fuss free solution to our client’s property needs enabling them to achieve their goals.

Recent projects include:

• Acting  for the South West of England Regional Development Agency in the purchase of a site at Dursley, Gloucestershire for £15 million. This project had the direct support and attention of the relevant Secretaries of State. Subsequently, we acted for the Agency in completing a Development Agreement with a private sector developer.

• Advising Oxfordshire Ambulance NHS Trust on a complete reconfiguration of its estate. Our work enabled the trust to deal with the disposal of many of its old and unsuitable sites and, in parallel, acquire a number of new sites for central "Hubs" to be established. We dealt with all the usual legal work associated with the purchase of a new, brownfield, site for the Hub. As the site was to be comprehensively redeveloped, we also advised on all the aspects of the development arrangements. We negotiated a development agreement which dealt with the construction obligations and which needed to inter-relate with the building contract
