My role
I am the architect of new business here at Bevan Brittan. It is my job to ensure the smooth running of the firm and to ensure we make the very most of the considerable talent contained within our business.
My key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing all strategic and operational decisions within the firm
- Day-to-day management of the firm
- Appointing the Bevan Brittan Management Team and some members of the Board.
I was appointed as Chief Executive Officer in August 2008. Prior to this, I had held the role of Chief Operating Officer.
I originally joined Bevan Brittan in a business development capacity back in October 2006, before becoming Finance Director in November 2007.
Background
I have spent most of the last 15 years in general management roles, principally with Honeywell Inc. and Connaught plc, running a range of both blue and white collar service businesses, and also drawing on M&A and other corporate activities.
My first professional training and qualification was as a Chartered Surveyor, specialising in property investment and development. However, I soon moved into business advisory services, working for Price Waterhouse and later Ernst & Young and taking responsibility for a range of audit, corporate finance, insolvency and management consultancy projects.
I completed an MBA in 1998 and have since undergone additional management development courses in both finance - at Harvard Business School - and Customer Relationship Management - at Cranfield Business School. I have also been responsible for delivering a strategic management module at Masters level for several years at Bristol Business School, University of West of England.
